Published 29 August 2025

Are you an experienced industry professional with a strong technical background and a commitment to advancing the quality of medicines? This is your opportunity to represent the UK and influence the development of European Pharmacopoeia standards.

The British Pharmacopoeia (BP), as the UK’s National Pharmacopoeia Authority, plays a key role in shaping international standards through its representation at the European Pharmacopoeia Commission. We’re now seeking industry experts to join select Groups of Experts and Working Parties, ensuring the UK’s voice continues to be heard in this vital work.

We are inviting expressions of interest from industry experts to join the following groups:

  1. Group 11 (Organic chemistry – natural, semi-synthetic and synthetic substances)
  2. Group 10A (Organic chemistry – synthetic and semi-synthetic products)

Experts should be able to fulfil the essential criteria outlined in the Terms of Reference and Expert profiles available for each group. Please note that this includes current access to laboratory facilities and active involvement in laboratory verification of analytical procedures and drafting of texts.

How to get involved

If you’re interested in contributing to this important standards-setting process, please contact BPCOM@mhra.gov.uk for more information. The closing date for expression of interest is midday on 23 September 2025.

You can also explore the Ph. Eur. website for insights and video testimonials from current experts.
