Herbal and Complementary Medicine - New Member sought for the British Pharmacopoeia Commission

The British Pharmacopoeia Commission (BPC) is looking to appoint a new member, with significant experience in the field of herbal and complementary medicines for up to a four year term. 

For this professional role you must be able to demonstrate the following essential criteria: 

  • Be able and prepared to contribute actively to the work of the BPC; be able to assimilate complex information at pace and be a skilled communicator 
  • Have significant experience in the herbal manufacturing sector including analysis of herbal and complementary medicines, and/or expertise in botanical identification and/or pharmacognosy, and / or be recognised as experts in either pharmacy, analytical chemistry or standardisation and specifications for herbal medicines 
  • Have a general understanding of the purpose and function of a pharmacopoeia and its place in the overall regulatory system (UK and Europe) 
  • Have the ability to operate effectively on a national expert scientific committee. 

All members must comply with the MHRA Code of Practice on Identifying, Declaring and Managing Interests.
