MHRA and BP Laboratory relocation

We can now confirm that the last day we can accept orders before the lab move will be Thursday 15th May.  We expect shipments to resume from the new Guildford site during the week commencing 2nd June 2025. 

If you do not need the BPCRS urgently, please do not place you order(s) until after 2nd June 2025. 

For ordering controlled drugs or precursor chemicals, you should ensure that any import permits you apply for from now on state the new address in Guildford, which is 10 Priestley Road, Surrey Research Park, Guildford GU2 7XY. In late spring 2025, the MHRA and BP Laboratories will be relocating from the current facilities in Teddington, to a new state-of-the-art facility which is fit for the future, in Guildford. This relocation will provide a much better working environment, connections with local scientific companies and improved Environmental, Social and Governance credentials, as part of the wider government’s sustainability and social mobility strategies. 

Whilst this relocation will bring significant benefits and reduce the risks and issues presented by the current, ageing, facility, there will be an unavoidable, short-term interruption to our BPCRS dispatch service during the move period.   

Considerable work is ongoing to plan the move and to minimise the impact on service, and we would like to reassure you that any interruption will be as short as possible. At this time, our estimated shutdown will be from mid-to end-May 2025.

Customers should please plan accordingly and place any BPCRS orders they need for May in April or, if they can wait, delay orders until June. 

When ordering controlled drugs or precursor chemicals, customers should ensure that any import permits which state the current, Teddington, address should reach us by early-April. This will allow enough time for us to apply for the export permit and ship before we shut down the Teddington dispatch and relocate to Guildford. Any import permits that do not arrive with us by this time will need to have the new address on them. Please contact the sales team for further details at bpcrs@mhra.gov.uk.
